Hi,
nice to see you here. I want to welcome you on this board.
We saw you racing in Chimay last year. I think you ran against a few members of the board.
Can you give us some details about engine, transmission and chassis modifications? Do you plan some upgrades for next year?
If you want, you can make a full presentation, we definitely appreciate group projects... _________________ Contactez moi par email, mp pas possible sur vwspirit.

Cool! Is it ok to type in engish then? I was just putting everything through a translation site and cutting and pasting!
Chimay was awesome! We really enjoyed EBI and will definately be back again this year!
The engine in 2008 was only a 1914cc with standard heads, engle 120 cam, straight cut cam gears, and a pair of dell 40's that we built in a hurry so that we could race in April, it just kept going thoughout the year so with over 100 quarter mile passes under it's belt it's time for a change....
The new engine is about to be built, we are just waiting on a few parts from Germany. The plan is for a much bigger 2234cc with much better heads, 48IDA's etc. Should see us being a bit more competitive this time at Chimay
A new gearbox is being built too with a taller first gear and all the strengthening we can scrape together. As the project is basically funded by the club members and whatever we can raise by selling Jägerbug merchandise (t-shirts, stickers etc) we are limited by cost. However, with the new engine / box combo and maybe even some semi slick rear tires we're hoping for much better quarter mile times in 09
We're currently working on the Jägerbug website too that will be launched very very shortly. There are hundreds of pictures and videos on there showing how the bug was built and just how bad the donor vehicle was in the first place. _________________ venez bientôt www.Jagerbug.com

By Julio not me
I hung onto 1st gear for far too long as I lit up from the line. It was a problem we had throughout the year, not enough traction from the line. Mind you, Chimay is a challenge at the best of times to avoid wheelspin! _________________ venez bientôt www.Jagerbug.com

This year I have some update too like 48 IDA - MSD Ignition - Power Pulley and more...

Nice team-work you did there!
Welcome on board!
Did you chop the bug by yourself? If you have some pics it would be nice to see some huge work like top choping
Looks like a nice upgrade you planned on the engine too, have you already chosen the distribution parts like the cam?
cheers
Yes, we chopped the roof ourselves
there are loads of pics on the Jägerbug website, I wasn't going to link to it until it was finished but I suppose you can have a peak at it in it's nearly finished state

Not sure how to put the video up so it's in view like the 1st one but here's a vid of the quickest run this year @ VW Action. Held at Santa Pod in England the night racing is one of the best drag racing sessions of the year due to the cool temperatures and well prepped track.

The site is really nice, and also most importantly it contains a lot of details on the bug
The new pic of the home page looks great too and your categories and subcategories look nicely organised to me, so that the reader can easily get to where he wants without hassles.. _________________ No freewheel, no brakes, no problems...

Lots more details to come
Glad you found it easy to navigate, it's taken a bit of work to get it looking right.
I might remove the vid of Julio kicking my ass, it's getting far too many views for my liking
It's a long shot but if any forum members have any pics of the Jägerbug we'd be more than happy to add them to the site.... _________________ venez bientôt www.Jagerbug.com
